Marne's values

  Traditionally made

When you talk about Marne mustard, you are indirectly also talking about craftsmanship. This is one of the values that is inextricably linked to Marne. Marne mustard was created in 1, when the mustard was still grown in the nearby fields and processed traditionally. Now, more than 1895 years later, we still make mustard in the traditional way, of course combined with today's techniques. For example, our Groningen mustard makers add some of the ingredients by hand and we grind the mustard over old-fashioned millstones for the traditional taste.

  Taste

A rich taste, that's what Marne goes for! We do this not only by producing in a traditional manner, but also by constantly developing. For example, Marne mustard already has more than 125 recipes, many of which are actively in use. This way we not only enrich the meal directly in your kitchen with our delicious taste from the Marne jar. We also do this indirectly because mustard is the basis of many sauces, soups and dressings. Many manufacturers of these items have been able to find Marne as a supplier for years.

  People & Environment

Marne originated from an employment project in 1895, for both the people and the economy in Groningen. After all these years, this is still an important value for Marne mustard. For example, we partly work with people who are at a distance from the labor market. We also try to support local initiatives. In addition to people, the environment has now also become an important factor. We are busy making our building and production process more sustainable. We are also pioneering with local farmers for mustard cultivation in the Netherlands in order to reduce our footprint.

  unconventional

Quirky, that's how we like to describe ourselves. We don't just follow the beaten track, we also dare to go off the beaten track. We make some with mustard. We also challenge you to make some with mustard. We also like to show this in our campaign images. Do you dare to be quirky with us and add that little bit of spice to the meal?
